As of September 2013 the undergraduate Specialist, Major and Minor programs in Visual Studies moved from the Faculty of Arts and Science (FAS) to the John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design (FALD).
For September 2013, those students in Arts & Science who were already enrolled in the Specialist or Major programs in Visual Studies were offered the option to transfer to the Daniels Faculty to complete their programs as Daniels students. They were also welcome to remain in Arts & Science to complete their studies.
For September 2014, those students who have been admitted to the Specialist or Major program in Visual Studies will be offered the option to transfer to the Daniels Faculty to complete their Honours Bachelor of Arts degree, or remain in Arts & Science to complete their degree.
Students transferring to the Daniels Faculty will have the same access to Arts & Science programs and courses as those remaining in Arts & Science. The following pages provide you with information to help you determine whether you might wish to transfer or not, details on the implications of a transfer, and the timelines. There is a tabular summary of the implications, detailed explanations keyed to the topics on the table, and a page allowing you to make your choice.
Students admitted to the Minor program in Visual Studies will not be offered the option to transfer. They must complete this subject POSt as Arts & Science students, even though the Daniels Faculty will be the sponsor of the program.
Also not eligible to transfer are those who have completed all of the requirements for their degree and expect to graduate in November 2014.
After September 2014, Arts & Science students to wishing to enrol in a Specialist or Major program in Visual Studies must go through the full internal transfer application process and transfer from Arts & Science to the Daniels Faculty. Only students with 10.0 FCE or fewer will be considered eligible to apply for an internal transfer.
You can enter or modify your decision to remain in Arts & Science, or to transfer to the Daniels Faculty up until the 21 September deadline. On the deadline, the last indication or change you made about your choice to stay or to move will be taken as your final decision. Once the deadline passes, your decision is final and will not be altered. Please review the detailed information below carefully.
